The Alpha Phi Foundation
Philanthropy is another one of our very important core values. Every year, we make donations to the Alpha Phi Foundation by hosting various philanthropic events and fundraisers. Alpha Phi officially adopted Women’s Heart Health as a priority in 1946, which became the Foundation’s philanthropic priority upon its founding in 1956. Today, the Foundation proudly invests in leadership, scholarship and emergency aid for our members, as well as programs and research that study heart disease in women- specifically its symptoms, treatment and prevention through its annual Heart to Heart Grant.

Mr. Heartthrob
Mr. Heartthrob is a big philanthropy event that brings together organizations across campus. It’s an onstage competition between male representatives from different clubs, sports, and organizations. It includes talent, interview, fashion portion, and is closed with a group dance. The audience donates money to vote for who they want to win, and we also have judges.
Our 2020 winner was Eric Argueta from Tau Kappa Epsilon |

Community Service
Each quarter, we look for different ways that we can help our community in and around the East Bay. We have found other causes in addition to women's cardiac care that we dedicate our time to. In the past, we have done many different things from sending care packages to military troops overseas to making decorations for a prom for Autistic students. Each Fall we also participate in Make a Difference Day which is aimed to clean up Hayward. One of our biggest events we love to participate in is Relay for Life! It is such a great cause and everyone comes together in the Greek and campus community to help raise money for cancer. We love getting together and finding ways to give back to our community!
